Officers assaulted, two suspects booked into jail

On September 6th at 12:16 a.m. officers responded to 911 calls of a disturbance outside of a nightclub in the 150 block of South King Street. SPD officers arrived and observed that King County Metro Transit police deputies were already on scene with one adult male suspect in custody (Suspect #1).

While investigating the incident suspect #1’s intoxicated girlfriend (Suspect #2) began to interfere with the investigation. Officers attempted to have suspect #2 step away from the area so they could continue their investigation. She refused to comply and when the officers attempted to escort her from the area she assaulted each officer by slapping away their hands and shoving them in the upper chest. Suspect #2 was placed under arrest. Neither officer was injured in the altercation.

The investigation revealed that suspect #1 was escorted out of the club by security. While outside, suspect #1 assaulted one of the security staff. The security staff took the suspect to the ground and held him there until officers arrived.

Both suspects were extremely intoxicated and hostile towards officers. They were subsequently booked into the King County Jail for misdemeanor assault.
