On 12/3/09, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a motocycle officer was getting off the southbound I-5 Express Lane at Eastlake Av E and Stewart St. The officer had a green light.
The main I-5 traffic also was coming off. The driver of the other vehicle was not aware of the two lanes to his left and made a left turn in front of the officer.
The officer was knocked off his motorcycle. He was treated on scene by Seattle Fire Department and transported via medics to Harborview Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.
Traffic Collision Investigators responded and processed the scene. The driver was investigated and released. This is an open and active investigation.
