On December 23rd, at approximately 10:45 pm, officers were notified of a gunshot wound victim at Swedish Hospital. Officers responded and spoke to friends of the victim. According to witnesses, the 20-year old male victim was in Othello Park earlier in the evening, talking to some other males. Witnesses stated that they heard a shot, then saw the victim fall to the ground. The suspects, described as four black males in dark clothing, ran away. The witnesses then transported the victim in their car to Swedish Hospital on First Hill. At the request of Swedish staff, medics responded to the Emergency Room and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center. The victim had a gunshot wound to his chest and wrist. Officers responded to the park to search for a crime scene but did not locate one. Gang Unit Detectives will be responsible for the follow up investigation.
