On 1/1/10, at approx. 1:15 a.m., the victim and her friend had just left a night club at 2nd Ave/James St. after celebrating New Years Eve and were walking to a nearby hotel at which they were staying the night.
As they walked, they noticed an unknown female following them. When they got to 3rd Ave/Spring Street, the unknown female grabbed the victim’s purse and in the process, the victim fell to the ground. She was not injured.
This appears to be nothing more than a situation in which the suspect took advantage of an opportunity to victimize a citizen who was out trying to enjoy the celebration.
