Wild coyote kills pet dog in Magnolia

On January 11th at approximately 4:00 p.m. a wild coyote attacked a pet dog in the 2600 block of 23rd Avenue West in Magnolia.  Several citizens intervened and were able to scare off the coyote with sticks.  The pet’s owner subsequently transported the dog to a veterinary clinic for treatment.  Sadly, the dog succumbed to his injuries.  The Fish and Wildlife service has been notified.  If anyone should see a coyote, call 911.  Below is a link to the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s website explaining wildlife encounters:
