On Friday, May 14th at approximately 9:10 p.m. a male victim attempted to sell a watch to two young men (the suspects) standing near 3rd Avenue and Pine Street. Upon showing the prospective buyers the watch, one of the juvenile male suspects grabbed the watch from the victim and then handed the watch to his partner in crime. The victim attempted to get the watch back at which time one of the suspects motioned as if he had a gun in his pants. The two suspects walked away and boarded a Metro bus. The victim followed the suspects. One of the suspects again motioned toward the victim as if he was carrying a gun and the bus drove away.
The victim called 911 and responding officers stopped the bus in question at 3rd Avenue and Bell Street. The two juvenile male suspects, 16 and 17 years of age, were positively identified by the victim. Officers placed the suspects under arrest and subsequently booked them into the Youth Service Center for Investigation of Robbery.
The victim was not injured and no guns were located on the suspects.
