Fight disturbance, suspect armed with two guns

On July 13th, at approximately 8:10 PM, South Precinct officers responded to a call of a possible fight disturbance involving three men near Rainier Avenue South and Ithaca Place South.  The initial call stated that one of the men, who had been driving a silver PT Cruiser, threatened to get a gun.  Apparently, this was a dispute over where the vehicle was parked, possibly blocking the driveway to a business. Officers arrived in the area and saw the males matching the description.  As the officer approached, he could see that the suspect was holding a handgun down near his waistline.  The officer immediately ordered the suspect to drop the gun, which the suspect did.  The suspect then attempted to walk toward his car.  The suspect continued to reach toward his pocket as he was walking away.  The officer quickly closed the distance between the suspect and himself and knocked the suspect to the ground.  As the suspect hit the ground a second loaded pistol fell out of the suspect’s pocket.  The officer was then able to take the suspect into custody.

The second suspect was located down the street where he was taken into custody without incident.  Both suspects were positively identified by the victim as the men who had threatened to harm him and threatened to burn down his business while pointing a gun at him.   A large knife was also recovered from the car.

Both suspects, ages 50 and 42, were later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Harassment.  The guns, a loaded .38 caliber revolver and a loaded .22 caliber were recovered and placed into evidence, as well as the knife.  Detectives will now handle the follow up investigation.
