On August 17th at approximately 4:57 p.m. officers responded to a two-vehicle fatality collision in the 7600 block of Airport Way South. Preliminary investigation indicates that a black Dodge sedan was traveling southbound on Airport Way South. A black Chevy Suburban was pulling out onto Airport Way South from Perimeter Road (that leads into Boeing Field) when the two vehicles collided.
The adult male driver of the Chevy was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The adult male driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene by SFD medics. Neither vehicle had any passengers aboard.
SPD Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives are responding to the scene and will conduct the on-going investigation. At this point no citations have been issued, which is standard procedure in serious traffic collisions requiring extensive follow-up investigation and collision reconstruction.
