On August 22nd, shortly after 4:00 PM, Seattle Police were contacted by BNSF Railway personnel that a southbound train had discovered the body of a male lying beside the railroad tracks inside the King Street Railway Tunnel south of the north entrance. Seattle Police and the Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene and the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Invsestigation Squad responded and conducted the investigation. Preliminary findings of the investigation suggest that the male, age 18-20, either fell or jumped from a moving train while inside the tunnel, resulting in his death. The Medical Examiner responded and took custody of the body. TCIS will conduct this investigation.
