Fatal motorcycle collision investigated on Westlake

On September 3, at approximately 1:35 AM, a black 2005 Kawasaki  motorcycle driven by a 25-30 year old male was travelling northbound on Westlake Avenue North.  As the motorcycle entered the 2700 Block of Westlake Avenue North, the rider failed to negotiate the left curve.  The motorcycle left the roadway and collided with the guardrail.  The impact caused the motorcycle to flip several times, finally coming to rest in the parking lot in the 2700 Block of Westlake Ave. N.  The rider was throw from the motorcycle when it struck the guardrail.   The Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the rider to Harborview Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.  Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded to investigate the collision.  TCIS detectives will be responsible for the follow up investigation.
