On March 3rd at approximately 12:35 p.m., East Precinct patrol officers responded with Seattle Fire medics to a report of an injured person in the 500 block of Lakeside Avenue S. It quickly became apparent that the victim, a 38-year-old woman, had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for emergency treatment but efforts to save her were unsuccessful.
It was not immediately clear whether this was a suicide, accident or homicide, so Homicide and CSI detectives were called to the scene out of an abundance of caution. The King County Medical Examiner will conduct their own investigation to determine the cause of death.
