On 3/7/11, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to 3rd and Virginia to investigate a stabbing. According to witnesses at the scene, the victim was waiting for the bus when he got into a verbal confrontation with the suspect. The victim pushed the suspect and the suspect swung at him with a knife, striking the victim in the abdomen. Seattle Fire responded and treated the victim for the non-life threatening stab wound. He was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center.
The suspect fled N/B on foot on 3rd Av. The victim was up walking around and mostly concerned about getting his identification back from officers. The victim was not very cooperative and gave limited information on the suspect and what happened.
The suspect is described as a black male, 40’s, 5’6 tall, wearing a beige or brown coat and blue jeans. He is at large.
