Woman found wandering street in her underwear *(UPDATE)*

On 4/5/11, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of S. Plum St on a call of a female calling for assistance as she stumbled and crawled E/B on S. Plum St.

The call indicated the female came out of an apartment in the 1400 block of  S. Plum wearing only her underwear.  Officers arrived and found the victim on the corner of 15th and S Plum St.  The victim had sustained serious injuries to her head and body. Seattle Fire Department responded to treat the victim.

Officers entered the open door of the victims apartment to look for additional victims and/or suspects.  Upon entering the premise the officers noticed a strong odor of natural gas in the apartment and could hear an igniter clicking.  Officers backed out of the apartment until Seattle Fire Department could turn off the gas to the apartment.

Once the gas was turned off, officers re-entered the apartment to check for victims and/or suspects.  The apartment checked clear. Homicide and CSI detectives responded and processed the scene.  The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Medics.  Last report was that the victim was in critical condition with a low chance of recovery. 

**This incident is being investigated as a serious crime until we know otherwise.   We currently have a team of Homicide and CSI Detectives actively working the case.
