On April 24th at approximately 7:35 p.m. a witness called 911 to report a suspicious package sitting outside a bank near the ATM machine in the 300 block of Eastlake Avenue East. Officers and Arson-Bomb Squad (ABS) detectives responded to the scene. Out of an abundance of caution, Eastlake Avenue East was shut down from Thomas Street to Harrison Street. The Stewart Street exit ramp from I-5 was also shut down.
ABS detectives determined the package to be harmless and removed it from the scene. At approximately 10:35 p.m. all roads were opened back up.
This remains an active and on-going Arson-Bomb Squad investigation.
