On Friday, May 20th, just before midnight, South Precinct officers responded to several calls of shots fired in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street. A few minutes later, the occupants of a residence in the 9100 Block of 50th Avenue South called 911 to report that someone showed up at their doorstep with a gunshot wound. The victim, a 26 year old male, was treated by Seattle Fire for two gunshot wounds to his arm and his hand.
The investigation revealed that the victim was standing on the sidewalk, at the southwest corner of Rainier and Henderson when a light colored car drove past him as he was walking toward the busstop. Words were yelled by the occupants of the car, and as the car turned back around, the front passenger began shooting at the victim. The victim ran westbound through the parking lot, and then south where he eventually ran to the house where officers contacted him. The suspect car then drove off. The only description of the suspects is three black males, ages 18-mid 20’s, in a light colored sedan. Officers were able to recover several shell casings from the SW corner of Rainier and Henderson.
Gang Unit detectives also responded to the scene and will continue this investigation.
