On May 23rd, at approximately 5:44 PM, Southwest Precinct officers responded to a 911 call of a burglary in progress to a residence in the 2400 Block of SW Holden Street. Witnesses reported seeing the two juvenile suspects enter the residence and then exit, carrying stolen items. Officers arrived quickly and were able to broadcast a good description of the suspects and the items they were carrying. Officers located the two suspects several blocks away, where they ran into a house. Officers contacted the other residents of that house as the two suspects fled out a rear window and were eventually caught as they tried to dump the stolen items on a steep blackberry bush covered embankment. The two suspects were taken into custody, and witnesses positively identified them. The stolen items were recovered and submitted into evidence. The two suspects, ages 16 and 17, were later booked into the Youth Services Center for Investigation of Burglary. Detectives will now follow up on the investigation.
