On June 10th, a large number of volunteers gathered at a school in the 11500 Block of 12th Avenue NE to repaint the retaining walls, add murals and landscape the grounds. The volunteers and staff finished around 7:00 PM. Sometime between the time the volunteers left and 10:00 AM on June 11th, an unknown suspect or suspects came onto school grounds and did extensive damage to the recent improvements. The damage included new planters overturned, damaged and broken, and between 30-40 individual graffiti “tags” made with permanent marker on the new murals and classroom doorways. North Precinct officers responded to the school shortly after 12:00 noon when the damage was reported. Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact the Seattle Police.
