South Pct officers catch car prowlers-recover stolen property

On 7-1-11,  at approximately 11:50 p.m., 2 South Precinct officers were patrolling the area around a club in the 2900 block of Occidental Av S., when they heard a crash. The officers then saw several males run to a vehicle and leave the area at a high rate of speed.

One of the officers followed the vehicle as the other searched for the source of the noise. At that point, the officer was flagged down by a victim stating his car had just been prowled.  The officer following the suspects stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by five males. The stolen items (laptop and cell phone) were recovered from under the passenger seat in the suspect vehicle.

The five suspects were transported to the South Precinct. The two adults were booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Theft and one juvenile was booked into Youth Service Center for Investigation of Theft. The other two suspects were investigated and released.
