On 7/4/11, at approximately 7:00 p.m., King County Metro dispatch reported that one of their bus drivers witnessed a shooting near the bus zone in the 1500 blk of 3rd Ave. Foot beat officers arrived within seconds of the call, but did not locate a victim or suspect.
Witnesses came forward and gave the suspect’s description and direction of travel to officers. King County Transit Police located the suspect’s orange shirt in a trash can, down in the Metro tunnel, near the Macy’s store. The suspect was not located. Officer’s recovered video of the suspect from Macy’s and Metro’s tunnel security cameras.
After an extensive search, the victim was not located. At approximately 8:00 p.m., an unknown person dropped the victim off at Harborview Medical Center (HMC) for treatment. Officers responded to HMC to interview the victim. The victim was uncooperative and refused to give any information identifying who dropped him off at HMC or suspect information. The Investigation continues.
