On July 11th, at approximately 2:48 AM, North Precinct officers responded to several 911 calls of shots fired from a vehicle in the 4700 Block of University Way NE (“the Ave”). Witnesses reported seeing a full size gray pickup with matching canopy, tinted windows, and large front tires occuppied by two Hispanic men. One of the occupants fired several shots from a handgun from inside the truck, striking the window of a business. The intended target may have been an adult male who was walking along the sidewalk. There were no injuries. The suspect vehicle sped away in an unknown direction. Officers conducted an area search, but did not locate the truck. Several spent shell casings were recovered from the scene.
