On August 14th an adult female employee of a drug store located at 5th Avenue and Olive Way attempted to stop an adult male suspect who had stolen three bottles of baby shampoo from the store and fled on foot. The store employee caught up with the suspect south of the store on 5th Avenue. As she attempted to stop the suspect he turned around and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. The suspect dropped two of the shampoo bottles and ran off with the remaining one.
The 23-year-old female victim employee sustained swelling and pain to her face but declined medical attention.
Robbery detectives were assigned the case. They quickly developed information during the course of their investigation that allowed detectives to locate and arrest the suspect on August 17th at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the City of Seattle.
The 46-year-old male suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
The case will be forwarded to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
