On August 30th, just after 10:00 am, South Precinct officers responded to a collision between two cars in the 2800 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. The suspect car, driven by a 28 year old female, turned into and struck the front quarter panel of the victim’s car, driven by a 34 year old female. Both drivers pulled into a parking lot in the 2800 Block of MLK Jr. Way South. The suspect got out of her car with a gun in her hand and began yelling at the victim. After several words were exchanged, the victim called 911 and the suspect placed her gun under the driver’s seat of her own car.
Both parties continued to exchange words, and the suspect began throwing several punches at the victim. The victim stated that she was not actually struck and did not suffer any injuries.
Officers arrived and calmed everyone down. The suspect admitted to officers that she had a gun, but stated that she has a permit for it. Officers recovered the 9mm handgun from underneath the driver’s seat of her car. The suspect was arrested for unlawful use of weapon to intimidate and later booked into the King County Jail.
