On October 9th at approximately 3:27 a.m. officers responded to a hospital emergency room in the 700 block of Minor Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim that had arrived there. The adult male victim (victim #1) had sustained a single gunshot wound to the right side of his neck. SFD medics responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center. The victim’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an adult female (victim #2) had driven victim #1 to the emergency room from the shooting scene (determined to be in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South) in victim #1’s Ford pickup truck. There appears to have been some sort of altercation between the victims and possibly five male suspects, one of whom pulled out a gun and shot victim #1 in the neck. Victim #1’s vehicle had blood stains on the interior and was subsequently impounded and taken to the evidence garage for further processing.
The suspects were gone upon officers’ arrival to the actual shooting scene and remain at large.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
