With friends like this, who needs enemies? Man shoots friend in the back

On 10/7/11, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the victim and his friends were in an area nightclub.  They met up with some other friends and the two groups left in two vehicles.  The victim left with some friends in a Jeep Cherokee and they went over to 4 Av S and S Walker St.  The victim was sitting in the front passenger seat.

The male sitting in the back seat directly behind the victim was messing with a handgun and a round was fired.  The round went through the seat and struck the 22- year-old victim in the lower left back.  The vehicle was stopped at Airport Way S and S Plum St.

The victim was treated on scene by Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Medical Center via medics, in critical condition.  The vehicle was impounded to the processing room and the suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested and booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
