Detectives attempting to identify this man

On October 4th, 2011, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a bicyclist was riding westbound in the 400 block of Cherry St (wrong way – one way street). The bicyclist struck an 80- year- old female as she was crossing Cherry Street northbound and within the marked crosswalk. After knocking the pedestrian down, the bicyclist and bystanders assisted the elderly female to the sidewalk.

The bicyclist then quickly rode away westbound on a black bicycle without identifying himself. The elderly pedestrian suffered a broken arm in the collision.

The bicyclist is described as a black male, 30-40 years old. He was wearing a dark blue or black bicycle helmet, a red hat, a dust (health) mask and a black puffy jacket.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity of the bicyclist is asked to call the Seattle Police Traffic Collision Investigations Unit, Detective Mike Korner at 206-684-8927.  Anonymous calls are welcome.
