On 10/29/11, at approximately 4:56 p.m., officers responded to a man with a gun in the 1500 block of Cherrylane Pl S. It was reported to dispatch that the suspect had gotten into an argument with his neighbors. He then pointed a black handgun at one of the neighbors as that neighbor was standing at his window inside of his house.
The suspect then used a firing motion with the gun in his hand and then placed it in the small of his back as he walked back inside his house. Officers responded to the scene, setup containment and tried to get the suspect to exit his house unarmed. Their efforts were unsuccessful.
Hostage Negotiators and SWAT responded to the scene. After hours of negotiating with the suspect, he agreed to step outside of his house and was taken into custody.
The 40-yr-old man was transported to the South Precinct. His disposition is unknown at the time of this posting.
