On 11/7/11, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a witness heard an alarm at a house in the 3100 block of Cascadia Ave S and observed two males jumping over a fence from the residence. A short time later dispatch received a burglary alarm activated at that same address. Another witness reported two individuals with the same description in an alley several blocks from the burglary location.
An officer stopped two subjects fitting the descripitons in the 3400 block of Mt. Baker Blvd. One subject had a backpack and paint residue on his pants. The paint appeared similar to paint at the entry point of the residence that was broken into. The subject in possession of the backpack and the paint residue on his pants signed a consent to search for his backpack. Two lap tops were recovered along with a handgun.
A South Precinct Burglary detective processed the scene and interviewed both suspects at the South Precinct. Both suspects were later booked into Youth Service Center for Investigation of Burglary and 1 suspect was also booked for Investigation of Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.
