Train/pedestrian fatality collision in South Seattle

On November 7th at approximately 6:21 p.m. officers responded to the 5500 block of Airport Way South for the report of a train/pedestrian collision.  Preliminary investigation indicates that a 21-year-old female pedestrian was crossing the railroad tracks in an area that is not open to the public and is not a legal railroad crossing.

SFD medics responded and declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene.  She was subsequently transported to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, who has the responsibility for determining the cause of death and positively identifying the deceased.

Seattle Police Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives responded to the scene and will be handling the active and on-going investigation.
