Assault, stabbing in restaurant drive-thru on Northgate

On December 2nd, at approximately 10:30 pm, North Precinct officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the drive thru lane of a fast food restaurant in the 2100 Block of North Northgate Way.  A man and several of his friends were in the parking lot, and, according to witnesses, looking to get into a fight.  The suspect had kicked and hit several cars in the parking lot.  The suspect approached a male on a scooter in the drive thru lane.  The man on the scooter told the suspect/victim several times to get away from him or he would “get cut.”  The suspect/victim continued to come toward the scooter, and the man stabbed the aggresor with a knife.

Officers arrived quickly and after interviewing witnesses and reviewing security video footage, it appears that the stabbing was in self-defense.  The man on the scooter remained on the scene and was cooperative with the investigating officers.

The suspect/victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for his injury.  It did not appear to be life-threatening.  A report was written and will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.
