On January 3rd, at approximately 10:00 pm, South Precinct officers responded to several calls of “shots fired” in the 9300 Block of Rainier Avenue South. People were seen running from the parking lot of a fast food restaurant immediately after the shots were fired. Officers responded and located an adult female victim in the parking lot with life-threatening injuries. An adult male victim, with non life-threatening injuries, had run across the street to the parking lot of another fast food restaurant . Seattle Fire was called to the scene and transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center. The female victim underwent surgery.
A possible suspect, described as a black male in dark clothing, was seen running southbound on 52nd Avenue South. Officers set up containment and a K-9 team responded and began a track, but the suspect(s) remains at large. Detectives responded and began their investigation. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
