One-Day Community Police Academy

On Saturday, January 14th the Seattle Police Department held its third One-Day Community Police Academy. Community members listened to presentations on constitutional law, patrol operations & procedures, and the Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG), which was followed by a question and answer session with SPOG President Sergeant Rich O’Neill.

The afternoon was spent at the Seattle Police firearms training range where 12 participants listened to a presentation about the Arson/Bomb Squad including a demonstration showcasing the skills of the bomb dog. The group then went through “Shoot/Don’t Shoot” scenarios in the Prism firearms simulator.
