Armed Robbery, Knife Assault in Seward Park

On January 24th at 1:56 p.m. officers responded to the 4900 block of 50th Avenue South for a report of a man who had been stabbed.  Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim who had sustained multiple slash and stab wounds.  Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking westbound near 50th Avenue South and South Hudson Street when he was confronted by the suspect who demanded the victim’s wallet.

The victim was thrown to the ground and the suspect stood over him, jabbing a kitchen knife at the victim while demanding his wallet.  The victim sustained puncture and slash wounds to his face, neck, and torso.  The victim was able to push the suspect off of him at which time the suspect fled westbound from their location.

SFD medics responded to the scene and transported the 23-year-old male victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

During an area search, patrol officers located and arrested the suspect, who was positively identified.  The suspect was transported to the Robbery Office, where he was interviewed by detectives.

Upon completion of the interview the 22-year-old male suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery and Investigation of Assault.

This remains an active and on-going robbery investigation.
