Suspect in cab robbery arrested

On January 10th, a cab driver was robbed at gunpoint by an Asian male suspect in the 1900 Block of Airport Way South.  The cab was equipped with video surveillance cameras.  A photograph depicting the suspect was distributed to officers and the public.  Based on information received by detectives, the suspect was identified.   Officers and detectives spent the next several days searching possible locations for the suspect, but he could not be located.

On January 14th, a carjacking and another cab robbery occurred in the 2000 Block of Airport Way South.  The suspect descriptions were an Asian male and female.  The cab was also equipped with video surveillance camera.  The male suspect in the January 14th robbery was not the same suspect as the January 10th robbery.

On January 23rd, at approximately 2:00 pm, the suspect from the first robbery was located in South Seattle and taken into custody.  He was transported to the Robbery Office where he was interviewed by detectives.  Detectives learned that the second male suspect is already in custody in Snohomish County on unrelated charges.  The female suspect is still outstanding.  The first suspect, a 44 year old male, was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.  The second suspect, a 35 year old male already in custody, will be charged with robbery.  Both of these cases remain active robbery investigations.
