On March 2nd, three University of Washington students were walking in the area of NE Blakely and Ravenna NE, when they were confronted by several suspects. The victims were robbed and the suspects fled in a car. Information developed by detectives led to the identification of three suspects.
On March 10th, one of the suspects was taken into custody for an unrelated crime. Robbery detectives were notified of this and interviewed the suspect. He initially denied any involvement, but later admitted to being present during the robbery. He verified the presence of the other two suspects, but would not elaborate as to their involvement. The suspect was rebooked into the King County Jail with the additional charge of Investigation of Robbery.
Detectives learned that another suspect was scheduled to have a court appearance on March 12th for an unrelated matter. After his court appearance, the 19 year old suspect was contacted by detectives and later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
On March 16th, the third suspect, 20, was located in Shoreline and taken into custody. He was transported to the Robbery office where he was interviewed by detectives. After he was interviewed he was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery. Robbery detectives will continue to handle the follow up investigation.
