On April 7th, at approximately 1:10 pm, South Precinct officers responded to a report of a drive by shooting outside a residence in the 5300 Block of 33rd Avenue South. Officers arrived and located the victim, a 19 year old male. He told officers that he was standing outside in front of house when a vehicle with several unknown males aboard drove by and began shooting at him. The victim was struck in the leg twice. Seattle Fire arrived and treated the non life-threatening injury at the scene, and then transported the victim to Harborview.
Officers recovered several shell casings from the scene. While officers are still investigating, it is possible that the victim may have also fired a gun, based on evidence recovered at the scene. Officers were provided with the vehicle description and license plate and are following up on that information.
