On April 27th at approximately 7:34 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance with possible weapons involved at a school function in the 4000 block of NE 109th Street. Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim teenager got involved in a verbal altercation with five male suspects on the playground on the back side of the school. The victim was there for the school function and the five suspects were not. Two of the five suspects produced “airsoft” pistols (pellet-type guns) and began shooting at the victim, striking him once in the buttocks. All five suspects then ran off.
The school principal was present at the school and placed the school into “lockdown” mode when she heard of the possible weapons involved.
Responding officers cleared the area around the school and conducted an area search however, all five suspects remain at large. The lockdown was rescinded shortly thereafter.
There were no reported injuries.
