On June 9th at approximately 1:27 a.m. a black Toyota Camry driven by an adult male was travelling southbound in the 4500 block of Rainier Avenue South. For reasons yet to be determined the driver left the roadway and struck a large tree on the west side of Rainier Avenue South. After striking the tree the Toyota rolled over onto its roof and subsequently came to rest in the southbound curb lane of Rainier Avenue South.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, sustained life threatening injuries. SFD medics responded and transported him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
