Officers Arrest Suspect In Belltown Stabbing

Officers arrested a 34-year-old man downtown early Saturday after he stabbed another man in the face.

Around 3:15 am on June 9, several witnesses saw a 24-year-old man run screaming out of an alleyway at 4th Avenue and Blanchard Street, covered in blood.

The victim shouted that he’d been stabbed in the face, and several witnesses then saw the 34-year-old suspect running from the scene.

Officers stopped the 34-year-old suspect at 7th Avenue and Pike Street. The man had blood on his hands and clothing, and was carrying a pocket knife.

Two witnesses said they recognized the suspect—who had a distinctive tattoo on his chest—and officers booked the 34-year-old man into the King County Jail for assault.

Medics took the victim to Harborview for treatment.
