Suspect arrested in 10-month old armed robbery case. On August 19th, 2011 at approximately 8:57 p.m. two unknown black male suspects entered a Radio Shack in the 3800 block of Rainier Avenue South. Suspect #1 stood by the door while suspect #2, who was armed with a handgun, approached store employees at the counter. Suspect #2 ordered the employees to give him the money from the till while pointing the gun at them. The suspects then fled the store on foot.
Based on evidence gathered during the course of their on-going investigation, robbery detectives were able to identify a suspect. On June 15th, 2012 robbery detectives went to the suspect’s address in Renton, accompanied by King County Sheriff’s Office deputies. The detectives located and arrested the suspect and transported him to Seattle Police Headquarters. The 23-year-old male suspect was interviewed and released pending further investigation and forensic analysis.
This remains an active and on-going armed robbery investigation.
