Woman Bitten By Carprowler In Wedgwood

One woman was bitten in a fight with a car prowler Sunday morning in the Wedgwood neighborhood.

Around 8:15 this morning, the victim spotted a female car prowler breaking into her vehicle near 31st Avenue NE and NE 85th street. The victim grabbed the suspect—in an apparent attempt to detain her until police arrived—and ended up in a struggle with the prowler. During the fight, the suspect bit the victim.

During the struggle, a man—apparently an accomplice of the prowler—walked up, told the victim he had a weapon, and told the victim to let go of his partner in crime. Both suspects then fled.

Officers were able to track down the male suspect—who was carrying a switchblade—but are still looking for the female prowler.

Following the incident, officers recovered items stolen in at least one other car prowl in the area.
