Police and fire respond to a residence targeted with an incendiary device. At approximately 5:13 a.m. officers responded to the 3000 block of South Genesee Street for the reports of shots fired at a residence. Preliminary investigation indicates that suspect(s) broke out a window of a townhouse and threw an incendiary device through the broken window. The device started a small fire but the victim’s in-house sprinkler system appears to have put out the fire prior to the arrival of SFD.
There were two adults (a man and a woman) home at the time of the attack. Nobody was injured.
The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers and remain at large. There is no suspect or suspect vehicle description available at this time.
Indications are that this was not a random attack.
Seattle Police Arson/Bomb Squad detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
