A 45 year old man was stabbed in the torso during a fight on the sidewalk in Belltown. At approximately 3:42 a.m. an officer on patrol saw two men on the ground fighting near the southwest corner of 3rd Avenue and Bell Street. As he rolled up to contact them the two subjects separated.
Further investigation revealed that the 45 year old male victim sustained two puncture wounds to his torso. SFD medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a male in his 20’s, had a bloody face from injuries sustained from the fight (the suspect’s injuries were not believed to have been caused by a cutting instrument). He was transported to Harborview by ambulance for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
There was no knife recovered at the scene. However, a witness told officers that a third man was seen walking away from the two fighting subjects and may have had the weapon. This third subject is unidentified and remains at large.
This information is preliminary and subject to change as officers are still actively investigating the incident.
