Shooting in South Seattle

A man heard a knock on the door of the apartment he was staying at but did not open the door.  A male on the other side of the door asked for someone by name, and then fired 4-5 shots into the door.

At approximately 1:20 am, South Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment building in the 7900 Block of Rainier Avenue South.  According to witnesses, an Asian male suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt had knocked on the door of an apartment and asked for someone by name.  The suspect then fired four to five rounds into the door of the apartment, striking the 34 year male suspect once in the stomach and once in the hand.  The victim was treated at the scene by Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Medical Center by Medics.  The injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.  Witnesses at the scene were able to provide officers with a suspect description, and he was located approximately 40 minutes later by an officer in Pritchard Beach Park.  See additional Blotter post for information on that incident.
