Man insisted he was okay, despite a stab wound to the torso. Just shortly before 1 a.m. this morning officers responded to a report of a stabbing near 3rd Avenue & Seneca Street. The victim was quickly found in the 1300 block of 3rd Avenue as he sat leaning against Benaroya Hall. The victim wanted no police assistance insisting he was alright.
Officers convinced him to allow them to check his wound. When they did they discovered a roughly 4”x1” stab wound to the torso. Officers immediately began rendering first aid while awaiting Seattle Fire (SFD)& medics.
SFD & medics arrived and took over treatment. No one on the block claimed to be a witness or provided any useful information. Benaroya security stated they had observed the wounded victim about 5-10 minutes prior to our arrival. Their inquiry into his well being was met with profanities. The victim was transported to HMC where he was rushed into surgery, although the wound was not considered life threatening.
