King County prosecutors are asking for a tough sentence for an 18-year-old man who went on a burglary spree across North Seattle earlier this year.
Beginning in February, Maxfield Dare burglarized more than a dozen homes as his victims slept, and stole cash, credit cards and cars.
Detectives from SPD’s auto theft unit, Major Crimes Task Force, patrol, Anti-Crime Team, Crime Analysis Unit, and Robbery Unit all worked to track Dare down.
In June, Dare pleaded guilty to four counts of residential burglary, two counts of auto theft, trafficking stolen property, theft and assault, adding to his already hefty rap sheet which includes 15 prior convictions as a juvenile.
Dare is scheduled to be sentenced in King County Courthouse at 1:45 pm in court room W-711, and prosecutors are requesting an exceptional 11-year sentence.
The detectives who worked to arrest Dare will be in court, as will several of the Dare’s victims.
