A young man was shot in the leg in South Seattle this afternoon. At approximately 4:32 p.m. officers responded to calls of shots fired and a man down in the 5200 block of 29th Avenue South. Responding officers located a 17-year-old male victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to the thigh. The victim refused to cooperate with investigating officers.
SFD medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is at large. A vehicle was seen leaving the general location of the shooting but it cannot be confirmed at this time whether the car was involved in the shooting or just an innocent motorist trying to get out of the area.
Gang Unit detectives responded to the scene and will be handling the active and on-going investigation.
