UPDATE: At approximately 6:56 p.m. Ayla was located safe and sound in West Seattle. Officers subsequently re-united her with her parents.
Seattle Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing nine year old girl. On September 8th at approximately 1:17 p.m. the missing girl, Ayla Dudley, was with her foster mother driving in South Seattle. At Beacon Avenue South and South McClellan Street Ayla asked her mother to stop the car at which point Ayla got out of the car and began walking away. Her mother made several unsuccessful attempts to get Ayla back in the car. Her mother followed Ayla for awhile and then lost sight of her northbound on 17th Avenue South at South Stevens Street.
Multiple patrol officers and other department assets have been actively searching for Ayla since the original 911 call was received.
Ayla is described as follows: 9 years old, 5′ 1″ tall, 115 pounds, blue eyes and blond, shoulder length hair pulled back. She was last seen wearing an orange shirt, blue jean jacket, dark blue pants and white tennis shoes.
She lives in West Seattle however, it is unknown what direction she is headed. Metro and Sound Transit have been notified to be on the lookout for her.
Officers are currently in the process of trying to obtain a good photograph of Ayla.
Anyone who sees Ayla or has any information as to her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police immediately and refer to this incident. Anonymous tips are welcome.
