Hit & run collision left 18-yr-old pedestrian with serious head injuries

Detectives are looking for a white (possibly Chevy) truck and its driver in connection to a hit and run collision that left an 18-year-old male in serious condition. On Tuesday October 2, 2012 at approximately 7:16 a.m., an 18 year-old male pedestrian was crossing Rainier Avenue  South  from west to east at South Elmgrove St.

A northbound vehicle in the inside lane stopped to allow the pedestrian to cross. A northbound vehicle in the outside lane did not stop and instead struck the pedestrian and left the scene without stopping to render aid and/or identify him or herself.

The 18 year-old male pedestrian sustained a serious head injury. He was treated on scene by the Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Medical Center via Medics.

The hit and run vehicle was described as a white, older Chevy pickup truck, no driver description was obtained. Traffic Collision Investigator’s responded and processed the scene.  The investigation continues.

Anyone with information about this vehicle and or driver is asked to call 911.
