A citizen in North Seattle called 911 to report suspicious circumstances that lead to a pursuit and the apprehension of a felony suspect. It all started at approximately 1:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of NE 120th Street when a citizen reported a suspicious vehicle on a dead end street whose occupant was dumping clothing items onto the roadway. As the suspect drove away the witness got a good license plate number and vehicle description which was passed on to the police dispatcher.
A computer check on the suspect vehicle’s license plate returned showing the vehicle as stolen. A Seattle Police detective in an unmarked vehicle located the suspect driving northbound on 15th Avenue NE. Patrol officers responded to the area and caught up to the suspect vehicle in Shoreline. A patrol officer attempted to stop the suspect however, the driver refused to pull over. The suspect then bailed out of the suspect vehicle while the car was still in motion. The car struck an apartment building car port, damaging two support beams. The suspect then fled on foot.
After an area search by Seattle Police officers and King County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the suspect/driver was located and arrested in the vicinity of the 17700 block of 15th Avenue NE. He was subsequently booked into the King County Jail for Felony Eluding and Automobile Theft.
King County Sheriff’s Office deputies, canine units and Guardian One assisted SPD and were instrumental in the apprehension of the suspect.
