Officers and detectives are investigating an arson that began as a domestic disturbance at a South Seattle home. At approximately 2:19 p.m. patrol officers and firefighters responded to the report of a disturbance and subsequent house fire in the 2900 block of South Austin Street.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an adult male suspect got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend and assaulted her. The suspect then retreated to a back room and set the house on fire. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
There were a total of eight adults inside the house at the time of the incident – none of them were injured.
There is no further suspect information available at this time.
Seattle Police Arson/Bomb Squad detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
